Despite the agonies of her own heart, she is ever more relentless in her pursuit of him, and is intent on accomplishing the mission to drag him to Tartarus, the dungeons of the Underworld, where he is to be sentenced, and stop him from altering the course of the time-track. Sun Tar, the Elder, her spiritual teacher and guardian, is ever present in spirit form to help her, and her lover, Talan Tor, the mighty, Siton warrior prince, is able to project himself across time and space in his spirit body, to comfort and embrace her throughout the darkest of times. She must work closely with the brilliant human scientist, Seph Byron, and the Tribe of Orthus, inter-planetary, inter-dimensional super agents who meet at the mysterious, secret mansions scattered across the centuries, in order to protect planet Earth from the most powerful of alien, supernatural invaders. Beside her, on most of the journey, is Asta who is from the 21st century, and is highly knowledgeable about the dwarf-built Travel Tunnels that lead across subterranean Earth, and into the very depths of the Underworld. Through Lua, a member of the Tribe of Orthus, Ley Ankar learns that there is a special, primordial, leaden cage suspended in super-physical Earth, forged by ancient Gods, that is kept in the fiery heart of Tartarus, in the realm of the Prince of Demons, and watched over by the Furies – the three, Terrible Sisters. It is there that she must take the Dark Lord. Nothing else will permanently hold him. Yet, will she and her companion, Wang, appointed as her guide by the Hados, Lord of the Underworld, ever escape the relentless games and tricks of the Prince of Demons and make it from Tartarus back up to the Underworld, let alone back to Upper Earth, the realm of humanity? It is a race in time that must be won if the Ranger of Earth is to continue her mission to protect planet Earth, and the oblivious, unsuspecting human race from a fate worse than death.

I am delighted to write another review for this author - this time for the second book. The author again surprises and intrigues with a depiction of the shadow worlds eerily like the various tomes that describe their existence and nature. The author is one of the best researched I have ever read.This is definitely not just another "medieval fantasy." It does include supernatural beings, magic / sorcery, and swords but it goes way beyond that. It is a delightful adventure story with twists and turns that hold your interest, and make the story very enjoyable.
The only detractor was that the formatting wasn’t perfect - some paragraphs are indented differently - but such a minor thing is hardly worth mentioning, given the uniqueness of the author’s work, the depth of the research behind it, and its easy readability.
I look forward to further stories by this author. Highly recommended.
